Massachusetts State Police say one man recovered, second man unaccounted for after boat capsizes off the coast
State Police have issued an update after a boat capsized off the coast of Massachusetts.
According to Massachusetts State Police, this afternoon shortly after 4:00 p.m., State Police became aware of a capsized vessel off of Salisbury Beach.
Troopers in the field as well as the Marine Unit and the Air Wing worked in close partnership with members of the United States Coast Guard and the Local Harbormaster to attempt to rescue the two individuals believed to be aboard.
First responders rescued the owner of the vessel and transported him to a Boston hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
A second person, a man in his 50s, remains unaccounted for at this time.
As of 7:20 p.m., field patrols remain in place on land, but all rescue and recovery efforts have been paused due to adverse weather conditions.
According to Salisbury Parks and Recreation, on Saturday morning, DCR raised Double Red Flags at Salisbury Beach, meaning swimming is closed due to life-threatening rip currents.
