Massachusetts woman plans on sharing the wealth after hitting $1 million in State Lottery game

They say it is better to give than to receive, a Massachusetts woman will be doing both after hitting big money on a scratch ticket.

According to the Massachusetts State Lottery, Valerie Guazzo of Stoneham is the winner of a $1 million prize in the Massachusetts State Lottery’s “$2,500,000 Merry & Bright” $10 instant ticket game.

Guazzo opted to receive her prize in the form of a one-time payment of $650,000 (before taxes). She said she plans on sharing the winnings with her family.  

She purchased her winning ticket at Marina’s Mart, 4 Howard St. in Saugus. The store will receive a $10,000 bonus for its sale of this ticket.

$2,500,000 Merry & Bright has one $2,500,000 and one $1,000,000 prizes remaining.
