18-year-old killed in Bristol County highway crash on I-195 remembered as amazing and loving

A teenager killed in a highway crash overnight is being remembered.

According to the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office, at approximately 11:00 p.m. on Sunday, Massachusetts State Police received 911 calls regarding a 3-vehicle crash on I-195 West in Seekonk. 

Massachusetts State Police, Seekonk EMS and Rehoboth EMS responded to the scene near mile marker 1.

First responders located a female on the roadway, identified as 18-year-old Abriana Herrera Perez of Providence with fatal injuries.  She was pronounced deceased on scene by EMS.

Upon arrival, police located three involved vehicles.  A 2012 black Mazda 3 was located in the right travel lane with disabling damage.  A second vehicle, a red 2003 Toyota Tacoma was located upside down in the median with disabling damage.  The third vehicle, a blue 2007 Yamaha XVS motorcycle was located in the breakdown lane with disabling damage. 

A 33-year-old male, who was identified as the motorcycle operator was transported to Rhode Island Hospital with injuries.  A 69-year-old female, who was located in the Toyota Tacoma and identified as the operator, was transported to Rhode Island Hospital for minor injuries.  Three of the four occupants of the Mazda 3, an 18-year-old female, a 17-year-old female and a 17-year-old male, were all transported to Rhode Island Hospital for treatment of minor injuries. The fourth occupant of the Mazda 3 was the female decedent.

According to a GoFundMe fundraiser, Abriana “was an amazing and loving person who loved her friends and family dearly.”

This is an active and ongoing investigation by Massachusetts State Police assigned to the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office.
