Successful season comes to an end for Fall River soccer club after tough loss at nationals

A Fall River soccer team saw its successful run come to an end on Saturday.

Fall River FC hosted the round of 32 in the UPSL nationals at Portsmouth High School against New York Braveheart SC but came up short by a 5-2 score.

The club notched a win last weekend against Brockton FC United at Harry Della Russo Stadium in Revere for the New England UPSL Premier Division title which got them into the nationals and the round of 32.

Matt Vidal and Valdir Silvia led the team with 7 goals each on the season.

Considering this season was the first for Fall River FC in the premier division and lost only 1 regular season match, things are looking up despite the disappointing loss.

The coaching staff of Kevin Estrela, Paulo Chuva and Pedro Miranda will now get the team ready for the fall season as they look for sponsors.
