Affordable housing lottery coming to brand-new development in Somerset; here are the details

A new affordable housing lottery is coming to the Fall River area.

Slade Farm Residences is a brand-new development located in Somerset at 508 G.A.R. Highway. This sleek, new upscale living experience offers a perfect blend of modern amenities, thoughtful design, and convenient access to the best of Somerset and beyond. Part of the larger Fairfield Commons development, a 7,500 square foot retail space featuring restaurants and services.

There will be a total of 120 rental units within the community, including 30 affordable apartments which will be leased to households with incomes at or below 80% of the area median income through an application process. The property will include two elevator-serviced buildings with a mix of one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments. Units will feature modern finishes and include in-unit laundry. Community amenities include a clubhouse with co-working stations, fitness center, dog park, an outdoor firepit, and grilling stations. The first affordable units are expected to be available in August 2025.

Monthly Rent Amounts

Sixteen (16) 1 Bedrooms: $1,609; Eleven (11) 2 Bedrooms: $1,752; Three (3) 3 Bedrooms: $1,882

Rents do not include the cost of utilities. Tenants will pay for electric heat, cooking, hot water, electricity, water, and sewer. One surface parking space is included for residents. Pets are permitted, subject to restrictions. There is a $35/month fee per cat and a $75/month fee per dog (residents with service animals will not be charged this fee).

$91,450 (4 people), $98,800 (5 people), $106,100 (6 people)
