Weekend fire damages home of Fall River couple
The Fall River Fire Department responded to a fire in the city this past weekend.
At approximately 9:45 p.m. on Saturday, a call came into dispatch for a fire at 349 Harvard Street.
According to Fall River Fire Chief John Lynch, a passerby noticed flames at the roof line of the single family dwelling. The fire was contained to the attic with smoke and water damage occurring to the first floor along with extensive damage to the roof.
A fire investigation determined that the fire started in a light fixture in the bathroom that spread upward into the attic space.
The home is owned by an elderly couple and there were no injuries.
