EASTON — Chief Keith Boone reports that the Easton Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred Tuesday afternoon.

At approximately 2:30 p.m., Easton Police responded to a 911 call reporting a shooting at an apartment complex on Robert Drive. The suspects fled the area prior to police arrival.

Upon arrival, officers located a teenage female suffering from a gunshot wound.

The victim was transported by an Easton Fire ambulance to Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton, then flown by medical helicopter to a Boston hospital with serious, life-threatening injuries.

Police believe that this was an isolated incident and not a random act of violence. There is no ongoing threat to the community’s safety.

Residents of the area should expect an increased police presence while investigators are still on scene.

The investigation remains active and ongoing by Easton Police and Massachusetts State Police.
