Diman Regional Vocational Technical High School has announced the appointment of former mayor Will Flanagan to its school board.

A 1998 graduate of Diman Regional Vocational Technical High School, Flanagan credits his vocational education as a cornerstone of his personal and professional success.

“I am honored to return to Diman in this capacity,” said Flanagan. “This school played a pivotal role in shaping my future, and I am eager to give back by helping ensure that today’s students receive the tools and opportunities they need to thrive.”

Flanagan’s connection to Diman goes beyond his personal achievements. He looks to be an example for current students on how a vocational education can lead to a great deal of success which includes a previously successful law practice and Cosmopolitan Dispensary, in addition to his multiple terms as mayor.

As a member of the school board, Flanagan will focus on the building of a new school, advancing innovative programs, fostering partnerships with local businesses, and supporting initiatives that prepare students for successful careers in a rapidly changing economy.

Diman Regional Vocational Technical High School is comprised of Fall River, Swansea, Somerset and Westport. Flanagan was nominated to the board by Mayor Paul Coogan and his appointment was unanimously ratified by the city council.
