District Attorney announces name of 86-year-old Cape Cod woman who died in fiery crash
Cape & Islands District Attorney Robert J. Galibois has issued an update after human remains were found after a car fire.
On Monday, during the predawn hours, a vehicle entered the area of Peter’s Pond in Sandwich. Upon arriving at the last cottage, the vehicle left the paved road, drove around the cottage and into the woods. Due to the pitch of the wooded terrain, the vehicle came to a stop, leaning on the passenger side. A fire was ignited that ultimately engulfed the entire vehicle.
The driver/owner has been identified as 86-year-old Susan Lauber of Sandwich. Next of kin has been notified.
