Race for Bristol County Commissioner, 5 Massachusetts ballot questions decided

More election results have been coming in on Wednesday including the 5 state ballot questions and the race for Bristol County Commissioner.

Three people were running for two seats in the Bristol County Commissioner’s race. With over 90% of precincts reporting, incumbent and former Fall River mayor, John Mitchell, has grabbed 44% of the vote to take the first spot. Political newcomer and real estate agent Julie Ruggiero took the second seat with 33%. Taunton School Committee Chair Gregory DeMelo received 23% of the vote.

Massachusetts voters were also facing several questions on Tuesday.

Here are the unofficial results for the 5 ballot questions in Massachusetts:

Question 1: Would specify that the State Auditor has the authority to audit the Legislature.

Unofficial result: Yes 72%/No 28%

Question 2: Elimination of MCAS as High School Graduation Requirement

Unofficial result: Yes 59%/No 41%

Question 3: Right For Unionization for Transportation Network Drivers

Unofficial result: Yes 54%/No 46%

Question 4: Limited Legalization and Regulation of Certain Natural Psychedelic Substances

Unofficial result: Yes 43%/No 57%

Question 5: Gradually Increase Minimum Wage For Tipped Workers To $15 per hour by 2029

Unofficial result: Yes 36%/No 64%
