A Bristol County goat that had escaped his home Friday and had eluded capture has been caught.

According to Taunton Police, “Alfredo” the Goat has been taken into custody with the assistance of East Taunton resident Kyle Santos and numerous other citizens.

Alfredo was jokingly charged by police with:

1) Escape

2) Failure to Stop for a Police Officer

3) Providing a False Name to Police (Billy)(We should have known all along that Billy the Ram didn’t make sense)

4) Assault and Battery – We hear Kyle took a shot to the behind and went for a little ride, courtesy of Alfredo.

Alfredo is being held without bail on house arrest pending his next court date.

Police especially wanted to thank the efforts of Ariel from Animal Control and Georges Ghazal and his son Anthony, from Deep Pond Farm who tirelessly tried last night to make the apprehension.

They also thanked the residents of Homestead Crossing who last night allowed them to take refuge in their garage, and at one point inside their front door to stay safe.
