Man accused of travelling from Massachusetts to Rhode Island to have sexual activity with juvenile, provide her drugs
Portsmouth, RI — On Thursday, the Portsmouth Police Detective Division arrested 28-year-old John Magee of Wareham following an investigation into the solicitation of a minor for sexual activity.
The investigation revealed that Magee had traveled from Massachusetts to the Portsmouth, Rhode Island area to engage in sexual activity with a juvenile female and provide the juvenile female with marijuana.
Detectives located Magee inside of his vehicle in the area of the Portsmouth Plaza, 3001 East Main Road, and conducted a traffic stop, subsequently taking him into custody.
Inside Magee’s vehicle, detectives located numerous knives, marijuana, narcotics paraphernalia, and other items of evidentiary value.
Magee was arraigned in 2nd Division District Court and released on $5,000 personal recognizance on the charges of Indecent Solicitation of a Minor, Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor, and Weapons Other Than Firearms.
