New Mexican restaurant opening next month on Route 6 in Dartmouth
A Mexican restaurant considered a fresh and healthier option is coming soon to the South Coast.
Caliente Mexican Grill is opening in September at 329 State Road (Route 6) in Dartmouth at the former Papa Gino’s.
To give you some background, Caliente Mexican Grill was created in 2005 with the goal of serving the freshest burritos and tacos around.
Ben and Jess Wood recognized the demand for healthy food with bold flavor. They decided to bring their West Coast influences to the emporium at the University of Rhode Island and history was made.
Caliente currently has several locations in Rhode Island and one in Malden, Massachusetts. A spot in New Bedford is also expected to open soon.
At Caliente, customers see their salsa being made fresh, steaks searing on the grill, and vegetables being prepared. They consider themselves a healthier Mexican food option.
In addition to a variety of burritos and tacos, Caliente also serves salads, nachos, quesadillas, enchiladas, chimichangas, jalapeno poppers, and wings.
Caliente has take-out and dining in. You can also order delivery through apps such as Grub Hub, Door Dash, and Uber Eats.
