Authorities are looking for a missing teen.
15-year-old Marlene Caiza came to Connecticut from Ecuador in the middle of 2023 with family.
She was last located in Lowell, MA and has not been heard from since April.

Marlene was just recently added to the missing person national database.
She is 5’5″ tall and weighs approximately 160 lbs. with black hair and brown eyes.

She was first in CT, then missing, then located in Lowell in April and now missing again. What’s the back story here?
Is she even a legal citizen? Who was she left with in Lowell? Why are the authorities just now inquiring about her whereabouts? This seems like a failure of the current administration. Proper vetting of individuals entering the country and ensuring they are placed in safe, approved living conditions could prevent such situations from happening.

I agree with you 100%. How did she come? Was she trafficked into the country? Is she a victim of that trafficking net? Who are her guardians? Of course we must look for her, but the answers to these questions may guide the search.

If she is 15 she is probably missing her homeland and trying to make her way back there. I know I wouldn’t want to leave my homeland at age 15 and leave all my friends behind. Equador would be the first place I would look.
