Bystanders rescue 4-year-old not breathing from Cape Cod pond

Good Samaritans saved the life of a young child after an incident on Cape Cod.

According to Fire/Rescue, on Sunday, at just after 2:30 pm, the Falmouth Fire Rescue Department responded to a reported drowning at Grews Pond (Goodwill Park).

The initial report was for an unresponsive child who was not breathing and was pulled from the pond with bystanders performing CPR. An update from Falmouth Emergency Communications reported the child was breathing.

Upon arrival of Fire Rescue personnel, they found a child approximately four years old on the beach and breathing.

No lifeguards were on duty during the incident.

Due to the nature of the incident, MedFlight was requested.

The child was evaluated and stabilized for transfer to MedFlight and transported to an area Pediatric Trauma Center. Fire/Recue did not have additional details regarding their condition.
