Massachusetts politicians abandon 339 Fall River homeless individuals, push for $500 million for the mostly migrant shelter system

Just over a week after closing the Timao Center, Fall River’s main daytime homeless shelter that services over 300 people, Massachusetts State Reps are asking for $500 million more to house mostly migrants in the state shelter system.

Fall River’s only overflow shelter during the winter months closed just over a week ago. It was more than an overflow shelter, it was a place for 339 Fall River individuals to grab a shower, food, get health check-ups, or simply a place to get off the streets during the day. The cost to run the shelter to service 339 people was $25,000 a month while the state spends $10,000 a month just to house a migrant family in a hotel, or $75 million a month to house 15,000 families. In other words, the cost of housing two migrant families in a hotel could pay to keep Fall River’s shelter open to help 339 Fall River homeless individuals.

Less than two weeks after closing Fall River’s shelter and after already spending $509 million this year, Massachusetts State Reps proposed another $500 million in spending on the state’s emergency shelter system that mostly houses migrants in hotels. This cost is just the state’s spending on housing and doesn’t include the millions in health care, food benefits, or even the costs of police going to the hotels. For example, the City of Taunton is trying to collect $312,000 in police costs from Taunton’s only hotel.

While it’s perfectly acceptable to assist Massachusetts residents who are struggling, it’s clear Massachusetts politics are completely incompetent to handle the migrant and housing crises they created. How else would you explain closing it costing $10,000 a month to house a family? Most families pay $1,500 to $2,000 a month for housing. This extremely wasteful (and probably fraudulent) spending will not only erode the State’s surplus it will cause local municipalities like Fall River and New Bedford to increase local taxes and fees as state funds dry up. Also, these 15,000 families have to leave the State’s shelter system eventually which means they will either put pressure on housing prices and rents, or become homeless themselves without places like the Timao Center to help them.

It is Okay …. the important aspect to this illegal alien crisis is that Maura Healy will likely be the first Lesbian Attorney General in next stolen election Biden Administration.

Although Maura is not intellectually bright and has ZERO leadership ability, she is cunning and manipulative. The reason the Commonwealth has a illegal alien crises is that because Maura along with Carole, Alan, Patricia and Paul and all the other Massachusetts demon-cats refuse to administer the Massachusetts Right to Shelter law as it was written in 1983 … that is precluding residents of other states and illegal aliens. The Right to Shelter law is a HUGE magnet for the illegals. Maura will not turn off the magnet because the Biden Junta will let her know they will not nominate her to Attorney General after they Ballot Harvest their way to victory in election. Local Dem reps will always vote with their Democrat cult because that’s what cult members do.

We need to allocate more resources toward newly arrived Americans. Many have fled oppression and do not have the support system that many established Americans take for granted.

Plus, many communities, like Fall River, have a history of racism and oppression toward people of color. This is a very small way that we can all begin to put forth reparations for the wrongs the United States has committed abroad throughout its troubled history.

Hey OBiden Warren: newly arrived Americans are US citizens.
