Town of Dartmouth announces opening of brand-new playground
Dartmouth, MA – The Town of Dartmouth has announced that there is a brand-new playground at Dartmouth Regional Park, located at 443 Old Fall River Road.
The newly installed purple and blue fully equipped playground brings a new level of safety, accessibility, and fun to the park.
There is separate equipment for children ages 5-12 and 2-5. Kids will have access to swings, slides and areas to climb at the play area.
“The completion of this site located at the Dartmouth Regional Park, brings all of our Town Park playgrounds up to code and accessibility,” said Tim Lancaster, Dartmouth’s director of parks and recreation.
The playground was funded through a Special Town Meeting in 2022 which approved CPA and CIP funding to revamp the park.
As for the infamous purple dinosaur that once occupied the park, unfortunately, it was past its reasonable lifecycle. The Department of Parks and Recreation did try to get a replacement, only to find that it is no longer being manufactured.
The park is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily and the new equipment is ready for action.
