Massachusetts Special Emergency Response Team locate missing 5-year-old in woods
Teamwork resulted in the locating of a young Massachusetts boy on Thursday.
According to the State Police Association of Massachusetts, earlier today, a 5-year-old child went missing in Warren, Massachusetts.
An extensive search, including MSP Troopers and Sergeants assigned to the Special Emergency Response Team (SERT), K-9 units, Airwing, and SP Brookfield, in collaboration with our local law enforcement partners, was swiftly initiated.
Remarkably, within about half an hour of beginning the search, a member assigned to the SERT successfully located the young boy in the woods, carrying the child out to safety.
SPAM noted that the rescuing party is assigned to SP Springfield and was working his regular duty assignment when the child went missing.
The child received a thorough evaluation by EMS and has now been reunited with his family.
