Wareham Department of Natural Resources bring in heavy artillery to rescue bird wrapped and stuck in tree
Responders went to new heights recently to help rescue an animal in distress.
On Thursday, Wareham Department of Natural Resources was dispatched to the area of South Blvd for a bird wrapped in kite string and stuck up in a tree.
Upon arrival, it was determined that they needed to bring in the heavy artillery and notified Onset Fire Rescue to get them airborne.
With the ladder truck set up, ACO Cloutier and Captain Depasqua sprang into action and removed the bird from the tree.
According to WDNR, the bird was determined to have some damage to its flight feather and a minor skin abrasion so it will be transported to Cape Wildlife Center for treatment.
