Massachusetts man uses some help from his wife to capture State Lottery $1 million prize
With some help from his wife, a Massachusetts man became a big winner on a State Lottery scratch ticket.
According to the Massachusetts State Lottery, Paul Pratt is the first $1 million prize winner in the Massachusetts State Lottery’s “Waves of Cash” $5 instant ticket game.
Pratt, who is from Billerica and was joined at Lottery headquarters in Dorchester by his wife Kathy, selected this ticket because it was in dispenser #26, which is his wife’s badge number. He opted to receive his prize in the form of a one-time payment of $650,000 (before taxes).
He purchased his winning ticket at Y-Not Variety, 140 Willow Ave. in Somerville. The store will receive a $10,000 bonus for its sale of this ticket.
