Massachusetts man wins State Lottery $1 million prize, plans on taking care of his friend
A Massachusetts man hit big money on a State Lottery scratch ticket, and he knows exactly what he plans on doing with the money, leaving a friend of his pretty happy.
According to the Massachusetts State Lottery, Glen Asaro has won a $1 million prize in the latest edition of the Massachusetts State Lottery’s “$2,000,000 50X Cashword” $10 instant ticket game.
Asaro, who is from of Gloucester, said that a friend told him to buy this Cashword ticket and that he otherwise would not have. He chose the cash option on his prize and received a one-time payment of $650,000 (before taxes). When asked what he plans to do with his winnings, he said that he plans to invest, do some fun stuff, and take care of his friend, too.
He purchased his winning ticket at Rockport Market, 21 Broadway in Rockport. The store receives a $10,000 bonus for its sale of the ticket.
