Off-duty South Coast firefighter saves life of young child
They say first responders are always on duty and that was never clearer than on Saturday.
According to Fairhaven Firefighters Association, Local 1555, career firefighter Jesse Lacerda heard a panic yell for someone to call 911 while he was out in his back yard.
Jesse’s quick thinking to hop over his backyard fence led him to take over CPR on a young child who had drowned.
Lacerda was able to revive the child with his actions, according to the union.
“Another example of how our members are always on duty for the community. Thank you to group 4’s FF Lacerda.”
