The FBI’s uniform 2016 crime report has just been released. The report collects data from law enforcement agencies. They consider a violent crime: murder, aggravated assaults, rape, non-negligent manslaughter, and robbery.

- Brockton – 1.08%
- Holyoke – 1.07%
- Springfield – 1.03%
- Chelsea – 0.92%
- Worcester – 0.89%
- New Bedford – 0.87%
- Pittsfield – 0.79%
- Fitchburg – 0.77%
In our area, New Bedford and Fall River police certainly have their hands full. What would you suggest be done to improve these numbers? More officers on the beat wouldn’t hurt.
