Meet Fall River’s Pet of the Week Tzar!

According to Forever Paws, Tzar is a greyhound/great dane mix. He’s tall and sleek with the longest legs and just look at that face! He is BEAUTIFUL. He’s about four years old so lots and lots of life and energy still left in him and he’s incredibly intelligent. Training him shouldn’t take very long at all!

This guy is good with both other dogs and with cats. He loves to play with other dogs and gets the zoomies pretty frequently so a playmate would be perfect. He is…hesitant with cats. We’re pretty confident that he was smacked once or twice by a cat and hasn’t gotten over it. Never forgive, never forget.

Since Forever Paws doesn’t have a history on him (he was a stray, no clue where he came from or what his life was like), they would not place him with children under 12 years old. He’s shown no aggressive tendencies, but they have no way of testing him with children and are not sure if he grew up around them or not. So, no small kids.

Tzar is shy at first. Very shy. He’ll cower and back himself into a corner and, sigh, empty his bladder. He’s a nervous peer. It’s not his fault and with some confidence, stability, and training, he’ll most likely be able to shake the habit. But, right now, he is so petrified of the unknown that he can’t help himself. Patience and kindness will go a long, long way with him.

Once he’s comfortable, he’s a bouncy, silly, goofball of a dog. He loves fetch, bouncing along with a ball, and carrying plush toys around in his mouth.

This guy is about 70 pounds so someone that can handle his weight and strength is a MUST.
