Fire Department: Driver rushed to trauma center after Westport highway crash
A person was sent to the hospital Saturday evening after a serious crash on a local highway exit.
According to the Westport Fire Department, Westport firefighter/paramedics used the jaws of life to extricate the driver from a motor vehicle accident on the ramp from Route 88 to Route 195 West.
The driver was transported to St. Luke’s Trauma Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
A witness stated that the crash led to the on-ramp being blocked off.
No other details were released.
The crash is under investigation.
