Two Rhode Island men facing gun charges after State Police recover two firearms
Two Rhode Island men have been arrested on gun charges, one of which reportedly fled from police.
According to Rhode Island State Police, on Friday just after 1:30 p.m., Troopers from the Lincoln Woods Barracks conducted a motor vehicle stop for traffic violations on Russo Street in the City of Providence.
During the motor vehicle stop, the operator of the vehicle fled on foot and was taken into custody a short time later. During a search of the vehicle, a loaded 9mm Luger pistol was located in the driver’s side door pocket and a loaded 9mm Taurus pistol was located in the glove compartment.
The operator of the vehicle was identified as 31-year-old Kyrell Clark of Providence and was charged with Two counts of License or Permit Required for Carrying a Pistol, Two counts of Large Capacity Feeding Devices Prohibited, Possession of a Firearm by a Person Convicted of a Crime of Violence, Possession of a Weapon other than a Firearm (Knife over 3″), Obstructing an Officer in the Execution of his Duty, and Disorderly Conduct.
The passenger was identified as 36-year-old Rashaad Martin of Providence and was charged with Two counts of License or Permit Required for Carrying a Pistol, Two counts of Large Capacity Feeding Devices Prohibited, and Conspiracy.
Both Clark and Martin were placed into custody and transported to the Lincoln Woods Barracks.
Clark was arraigned and transported to the ACI and held as a bail violator.
Martin was arraigned and transported to the ACI pending a bail hearing.

This is a shocking news story … these two gentlemen … with no firearm’s license to possess/carry were in possession of fully loaded ‘weapons of war’
(as Joe Biden insightfully instructed us … any gun you do not use for deer hunting is a weapon of war and you don’t take no 9mm luger pistol deer hunting!) Not sure how this can occur in Rhode Island. RI has some of the most comprehensive ‘common sense’ gun laws in the Nation and more are being developed. I’m confident that such laws will prevent varsity-level hoodrats such as these two gentlemen from transiting drugs back and forth from Providence to NYC and Hartford CT and while carrying unregistered/nontraceable weapons of war
