Massachusetts State Police quickly locate missing autistic and nonverbal 5-year-old boy and his dog
Massachusetts State Police located a missing 5-year-old autistic boy Monday afternoon.
According to MSP, Troopers from their Special Emergency Response Team located Owen Goderre of Oakham and his pit bull/heeler mix pet dog Tika as they walked along a path of power lines that cut through the forest near Coldbrook Road.
In addition to being autistic, the 3’10” Owen is nonverbal and there were concerns of him being spooked by strangers which made finding him quickly even more crucial.
State Police found Owen in less than a half hour after issuing a plea to the public to look out for the pair who left their home on their own.
Both Owen and his pet dog were evaluated by the Oakham Fire Department and fortunately received no injuries.
Owen was reunited with his parents shortly after.
