The State Police Association of Massachusetts shares good news on K-9 Barry
Massachusetts State Police released some good news today concerning a K-9 that works with the department.
The State Police Association of Massachusetts announced that their State Police K-9 handler and member Trooper Nick D’Angelo issued an update that after a lengthy surgery and close call with an illness MSP K-9 Barry has begun to recover and is expected to return home tomorrow.
While hospitalized, K-9 Barry underwent surgery to remove infected tissue between his lungs during which veterinary staff completely opened his chest.
For now, Barry is resting comfortably at the veterinary hospital and is making huge strides in his recovery.
SPAM is thankful that things have turned for the better for Barry.
“From everyone at the Association, we want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the veterinary staff who cared for K-9 Barry and everyone who kept our member and his partner in their prayers during this time. This is just another reminder that our K-9s are more than a tool used for policing, instead, they are our partners, friends, and members of our family.”
Here is some of K9 Barry’s work:
