Overnight Fall River fire sends two to hospital
A fire occurred late last night at Townsend Hill Apartments at 2448 South Main Street in Fall River.
Fall River firefighters responded to a call of heavy fire showing about 10:45 p.m.
According to District Fire Chief Jason Poissant, he believed one person was displaced.
The fire is believed to have been started on the second floor.
According to scanner transmissions, traffic was blocked at South Main Street and Mount Hope Avenue while the fire was quickly put out. A ladder rescue was performed on the third floor to rescue a female in an apartment above the blaze.
Residents in multiple apartments had to be evacuated due to smoke.
According to WJAR Channel 10, two people, including one firefighter, were transported to a nearby hospital.
