Here’s what’s happening at Fall River Public Library this week.
The library shows free big-screen movies on Mondays at 1 pm and 6 pm. The movie for November 15 is Reminiscence, starring Hugh Jackman (rated PG-13).
On Tuesday, November 16, at 11 am, the library will host Preschool Storytime in the Meeting Room. Another preschool program, Play & Learn, sponsored by Fall River Schools, is held on Wednesday, November 17 at 10 am.
If you love to knit or crochet, join the Knitting Club on Tuesday, November 16 at 2:30 pm. Bring your own needles, yarn, and a work in progress, and share tips and patterns with other knitters. Beginners are welcome! The Knitting Club meets on the first and third Tuesday of each month at 2:30 pm.
On Wednesday, November 17, the afternoon and evening book clubs meet. Books & Tea at 2 pm and the library’s monthly Book Club at 6 pm. Book lovers are welcome to attend one or both! The Book Club will discuss The Broken Girls by Simone St. James.
Also on Wednesday, November 17, at 5 pm, the teen Magic: the Gathering group meets in the Fell Room.
Starting Thursday, November 18, the library will be giving out FREE Thanksgiving books to all children who visit the Children’s Room! Kids can choose from a variety of books for all ages. Just drop by during regular library hours, 9 am-9 pm Monday-Thursday or 9 am-5 pm Friday and Saturday, to select a book to take home. The giveaway continues until Wednesday, November 24, or while supplies last. The giveaway is supported by Debby and Richard Danner.
On Thursday, November 18 at 3:30 pm, kids can make a Thanksgiving Placemat Craft in the Children’s Room. The library will provide crayons, colored pencils, and markers for children to color in a Thanksgiving design, and they will laminate the placemat to make it spill-proof and durable.
The Chess Club, for teens through adults, meets on Saturday, November 20 from 1 pm-3pm. Anyone is welcome to join us for a chess game! Other board games will also be available.

Close down this dirty, nasty junkie and drag-queen mental case hang-out. Save the residents of Fall River who actually pay property taxes hard earned funds.
