UPDATE: Taunton Police searching for suspect, vehicle in evening shooting
TAUNTON — Chief Edward J. Walsh reports that the Taunton Police Department is investigating an incident where a man was shot in the arm Tuesday night.
At approximately 6 p.m., Taunton Police responded to the 700 block of Bay Street for a report of a man who was suffering from a gunshot wound to his left arm.
The 40-year-old Taunton man was transported by ambulance to a local hospital. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
Officers searched the area at the time but did not locate any suspects. In reviewing surveillance footage, a gray/silver SUV or crossover vehicle, which could possibly be a 2007-2012 Dodge Caliber, was seen being driven by a white male with shaggy hair. The man was alone in the vehicle and allegedly fired one shot at the victim, who was walking down the street.
The vehicle was last seen driving north on Bay Street.
The incident remains under active investigation by Taunton Police detectives. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call Taunton Police Detective Robert Kramer at 508-821-1475, Ext. 3123.
