In new report, Fall River schools see increase in virus cases, over 100 students in quarantine

Superintendent Matthew Malone’s Administration has issued an updated and detailed report concerning COVID-19 and Fall River Public Schools for the week ending April 2nd.

The data dashboard is as follows:

Total Number of Students (does not include students in out-of-district placements): 10,096

Total Number of Students (HYBRID): 5,450

Total Number of Students (FULL REMOTE): 4,646

Number of New Positive Students with Potential Student Contact (HYBRID): 18

Number of New Positive Students with No Student Contact (FULL REMOTE): 3

Total Number of Students Newly Reported This Week with a Positive COVID-19 Status: 21

Number of Students Currently in Quarantine Due to Exposure at School (HYBRID): 53

Number of Students Currently in Quarantine Due to Non-School Exposure (HYBRID): 44

Number of Students Currently in Quarantine Due to Non-School Exposure (FULL REMOTE): 7

Total Number of Students Currently in Quarantine: 104

Total Number of Employees: 1,976

Number of Employees Newly Reported This Week with a Positive COVID-19 Status: 4

Number of Employees Currently Quarantined Due to Exposure at School: 10

Number of Employees Currently Quarantined Due to Non-School Exposure: 8

Total Number of Employees Currently in Quarantine: 18

Note: Quarantine period is 14 days: quarantined students and staff may appear in more than one week.

As seen in Thursday’s Massachusetts COVID-19 report issued by the Massachusetts Department of Health, Fall River’s COVID-19 positivity rate is currently at 5.77% with a spread rate of 36.1 per 100,000.
