Dry and windy conditions turn car fire into highway brush fire
A car fire turned into much more this afternoon due to dry and windy conditions.
According to the Lakeville Fire Department, at 2:52 p.m. this afternoon, the LFD responded to Route 140 north at Myricks for a car fire.
Car 1 arrived to find a fully involved car and a fast moving fire in the adjacent woods.

The Chief ordered a call of all on and off duty firefighters, bringing Engines 1, 2, 3, Forest Fire 1, and Tanker 1 to the scene. An engine from Taunton also jumped in to the operation.
Crews were able to extinguish the fires within 40 minutes.
