Winter Storm Watch issued in preparation for upcoming storm
According to the National Weather Service, a Winter Storm Watch is in effect throughout Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut from Monday morning through Tuesday afternoon.
Travel could be very difficult and the hazardous weather conditions will likely impact the evening commute on Monday.
We are still expecting a major winter storm to bring 6-12 inches of heavy, wet snow to much of southern New England Monday afternoon into Tuesday. The Cape and Islands should see mainly rain. The heaviest snowfall is expected on Monday evening.
The greatest forecast uncertainty is across the I-95 corridor from Providence to Boston, where a changeover to rain is expected late Monday evening. In addition, strong winds of up to 60 mph are possible across the Cape and Islands as well as over much of our waters Monday afternoon into Tuesday.
