Massachusetts COVID-19 active hospitalizations pass 2,000 as 7 day positive test rate nears 6%
Massachusetts saw yet another increase in hospitalizations and positive test rate in Tuesday’s COVID-19 report.
Massachusetts has seen 3,293 more positive cases announced today. A decrease from Monday’s report. The 7 day weighted average positive test rate saw an increase to 5.98%. The rate was 3.3 on November 23rd.
Massachusetts had seen 3,760 more positive cases announced yesterday.
The Massachusetts Department of Health statistics show a rise in total confirmed cases to 318,143 with 43 more reported dead for a total of 11,804.
The overall amount of tests administered in Massachusetts is now 10,301,914 after 62,078 new molecular tests.
The 3 day average of COVID-19 deaths decreased to 44.
Estimated active cases had a rare decrease to 82,303.
Hospitalizations have increased in 75 of the last 99 days and 50 of the last 58 and saw an increase by 13 to see the total raise to 2,004.

Weekly COVID-19 Public Health Report
According to the December 16th report, Fall River has a 109.2 Average Daily Incident Rate per 100,000 (Last 14 days) (92.37 last week) which is another increase and the fifteenth highest in the state. New Bedford saw a big jump to 111.5 (was 78.80) leaving them thirteenth in the state. Westport is also in the red at 57.6 (was 45.62), Swansea is at 91.8 and was 78.82 last week, and Somerset saw a slight increase to 81.8 (was 80.16). Freetown also saw their rate increase as it now sits at 63.1 from 52.89. Dartmouth is currently at 63.7 after seeing 51.21 last week.

• Total of individuals who have completed monitoring (no longer in quarantine): 132,322
• Total of individuals currently undergoing monitoring/under quarantine: 19,027
