Despite another day over 1,000 COVID-19 cases, Massachusetts sees minor positive signs
Massachusetts saw a decrease in hospitalizations in Sunday’s COVID-19 report.
Massachusetts has seen 1,139 more positive cases announced today. A decrease from Saturday’s report. The 7 day weighted average positive test rate lowered to 1.8% after several increases this week.
Massachusetts had seen 1,292 more positive cases announced yesterday.
The Massachusetts Department of Health statistics show a rise in total confirmed cases to 155,660 with 22 more reported dead for a total of 9,788.
16,724 tests were performed on new individuals, nearly 1,400 less than yesterday’s report, to increase the amount of individuals tested to 2,758,047. The overall amount of tests administered in Massachusetts is now 6,165,624.
The 3 day average of COVID-19 deaths decreased to 19.
Hospitalizations have increased in 31 of the last 48 days, but decreased by 10 today to see the total raise to 613.

Weekly COVID-19 Public Health Report
Fall River, as expected, is in the red for a third straight week as the Average Daily Incidence Rate per 100,000 (Last 14 days) jacked up to 23.1. New Bedford is at 22.7. The cutoff for being in the red is 8.
Massachusetts residents subject to COVID-19 quarantine by current status up to October 28th
• Total of individuals subject to quarantine: 103,411
• Total of individuals who have completed monitoring (no longer in quarantine): 97,606
• Total of individuals currently undergoing monitoring/under quarantine: 5,805
As of November 1st, according to the CDC, the United States has seen 9,105,230 cases of COVID-19 with 229,932 reported deaths.
