Massachusetts schools see increase with 202 COVID-19 cases last week
The latest figures concerning COVID-19 in Massachusetts schools have been released.
The report by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education reveals that 202 tested positive. 129 of the positives were students and 73 were staff in the time period between October 15 and October 21.
The report from the week prior revealed that 160 tested positive. 92 of the positives were students and 68 were staff in the time period between October 8 and October 14.
The report from the week previous to that revealed 163 tested positive. 106 of the positives were students and 57 were staff in the time period between October 1 and October 7.
The report only includes positive cases of students and staff who have been in school for either in-person or hybrid learning. Remote learning cases are not counted.

Fall River: 1 student and 2 staff
Dartmouth: 0
Fairhaven: 0
New Bedford: 1 student and 2 staff
Plymouth: 3 students and 1 staff
Seekonk: 0
Somerset: 0
Swansea: 2 students
Taunton: 0
Westport: 0
While the state saw an increase in COVID-19 cases in schools from last week, the schools above combined for a slight decrease.
