Massachusetts continues to see COVID-19 hospitalizations increase as cases in the United States continue to climb
Massachusetts saw an increase in hospitalizations in Saturday’s COVID-19 report.
Massachusetts has seen 587 more positive cases announced today. A decrease from Friday’s report. The 7 day weighted average positive test rate remains at 1.1% after an increase.
Massachusetts had seen 734 more positive cases announced yesterday.
The Massachusetts Department of Health statistics show a rise in total confirmed cases to 135,598 with 10 more reported dead for a total of 9,372.
15,160 tests were performed on new individuals, over 4,400 less than yesterday’s report, to increase the amount of individuals tested to 2,395,552. The overall amount of tests administered in Massachusetts is now 4,670,758.
The 3 day average of COVID-19 deaths decreased to 9 from 10.
Hospitalizations have increased in 18 of the last 26 days and increased by 31 today to see the total increase to 531.

Massachusetts residents subject to COVID-19 quarantine by current status up to October 7th
• Total of individuals subject to quarantine: 92,662
• Total of individuals who have completed monitoring (no longer in quarantine): 88,825
• Total of individuals currently undergoing monitoring/under quarantine: 3,837
According to the CDC, as of October 10th, the total amount of COVID-19 cases in the country is 7,641,502 with 213,037 dead.

WHO announced Friday that the world hit a daily high of 350,766 COVID-19 cases breaking the record by over 10,000.
