Wind Advisory issued, rain and thunderstorms possible states National Weather Service
A Wind Advisory has been issued as strong winds are expected in the area today.
According to the National Weather Service, west winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 55 mph are expected for portions of southeastern Massachusetts and northern and southern Rhode Island.
The Wind Advisory is in place from 2 PM this afternoon to 2 AM EDT Thursday.
Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.
The NWS states to use extra caution when driving, especially if operating a high profile vehicle and to secure outdoor objects.
There is also a chance of showers and thunderstorms today, mainly after 5:00 p.m. with increasing clouds.
