Massachusetts COVID-19 case total hits 121,046 overall, 8,925 total deaths in today’s report

Massachusetts saw an increase in hospitalizations in Monday’s COVID-19 report.

Massachusetts has seen 222 more positive cases announced today. A decrease from Sunday’s report. The 7 day weighted average positive test rate remains at 0.9%.

Massachusetts had seen 370 more positive cases announced yesterday.

The Massachusetts Department of Health statistics show a rise in total cases to 121,046 with 8 more reported dead for a total of 8,925.

9,870 tests were performed on new individuals, almost 8,000 less than yesterday’s report, to increase the amount of individuals tested to 1,867,534. The overall amount of tests administered is now 2,728,153.

Hospitalizations have decreased in 88 of the last 119 days as hospitalizations, however, they increased by 10 today to see the total rise to 322.

Massachusetts residents subject to COVID-19 quarantine by current status up to September 2nd
• Total of individuals subject to quarantine: 80,709
• Total of individuals who have completed monitoring (no longer in quarantine): 77,940
• Total of individuals currently undergoing monitoring/under quarantine: 2,769

According to the CDC, as of September 7th, the total amount of COVID-19 cases in the country is 6,261,216 with 188,513 dead.
