4-year-old Massachusetts girl reported missing found dead in drowning Sunday
Police are reporting a terrible tragedy Sunday.
According to Danvers Police, at approx. 12:16 p.m., Danvers officers were dispatched to River Drive for a missing 4-year-old female.
It was reported that the child had wandered off from her residence. Responding officers conducted a search of the area and found her submerged in water along the river bank. She was removed from the water with no signs of life and CPR was immediately provided by our officer.
Danvers firefighters and Atlantic ambulance personnel arrived on scene and began additional medical care.
The victim was transported to Beverly Hospital as CPR continued. Unfortunately, after many extensive efforts to save her, she was later pronounced deceased.
Danvers Detectives and State Police assigned to the District Attorney’s office are investigating the incident.
At this time, the name of the victim is being withheld for the family’s privacy.
