Fall River’s COVID-19 total case number drops Wednesday, deaths approach 100

Fall River has seen more cases of COVID-19 decrease Wednesday.

Cases overall actually decreased by 2, according to the Mayor’s Office, due to address corrections. This makes the total in Fall River stand at 1,566.

The Fall River Health Department is in contact with the individuals who have tested positive as well as their contacts.

According to Mayor Coogan, currently in Massachusetts, 87% of those diagnosed with COVID-19 have recovered.

The death toll from the coronavirus in Fall River increased to 98 as the City was informed of 2 more fatalities.

The Massachusetts Department of Public Health started reporting both confirmed and probable COVID-19 cases and deaths dating back to March 1, 2020.

Thursday’s report revealed 6 more cases and Friday saw one additional case. 6 more cases were reported on Saturday. Sunday saw 2 reported cases. Monday revealed 8 more cases. Tuesday saw 2 more cases.

Governor Charlie Baker signed an executive order on May 1, 2020 requiring face coverings in public places where social distancing is not possible. This order is effective May 6, 2020 and will remain in effect until rescinded or until the emergency is terminated.
