Witnesses rescue driver after crash sets vehicle ablaze Sunday
A driver was injured and rescued Sunday after a serious crash.
According to the Rockland Fire Department, shortly before 3:00 p.m., Rockland Firefighters received a call for a car hitting a tree in the area of 560 Hingham Street. Rockland Police reported the car was on fire with the victim was on the ground outside of the vehicle.
When firefighters arrived on scene, they found a single car against a tree with the car fully involved with flames. The occupant had been removed from the vehicle by witnesses before firefighters arrived.
Rockland Firefighters immediately began treating the victim and extinguishing the car fire.
The patient was transported to South Shore Hospital for treatment.
The incident is under investigation.
