One killed, two seriously injured in Norton crash Sunday
One person has been killed and two others seriously injured in a crash this afternoon.
According to Lieutenant Todd Jackson, at approximately 4:00 p.m., Norton Police and Fire Departments were dispatched to Oak Street in Norton for a report of a motor vehicle crash with injuries.
Upon arrival, emergency personnel observed a single motor vehicle that had crashed into a tree off the right side of the roadway. Crews rendered aid to the three passengers in the vehicle.
The operator of the vehicle and a passenger were transported to Rhode Island Hospital with serious injuries.
The third passenger was announced deceased at the scene.
Witnesses reported that the vehicle was traveling north on Oak Street at a high rate of speed before the crash.
Jackson stated that no names of the victims are being released at this time.
The crash is still under investigation by Norton Police, along with Massachusetts State Police assigned to the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office and the Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section.
