Man killed in Friday crash in Providence
Scituate, R.I. The Rhode Island State Police report that a lone operator of a vehicle traveling on Route 10 south in the City of Providence succumbed to injuries as a result of the accident.
The operator was identified as Roberto Pichardo Mello, 22, of Cranston, Rhode Island.
A preliminary investigation revealed that at approximately 3:25 a.m., Mello was traveling in the right lane of Route 10 south, when at a point near the Route 6 overpass, his vehicle veered to the right, struck the concrete barrier and rolled over.
Troopers from the Rhode Island State Police Lincoln Barracks investigated the accident.
