2 year old Taunton boy likely maltreated according to DCYF
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (December 20, 2019) – A two-year-old male child from Taunton, MA was admitted to Hasbro Children’s Hospital on December 11. The child was open to DCYF at the time of his admission to the hospital.
The Department initiated an investigation, and through this investigation, DCYF has confirmed that the child’s condition was likely to have been caused by maltreatment. Pursuant to state law, DCYF notified the Office of the Child Advocate of the report.
Due to confidentiality laws, DCYF is prohibited from sharing additional information. Rhode Islanders are required by law to report known or suspected cases of child abuse or neglect to DCYF within 24 hours of becoming aware of such abuse/neglect.
