Newport Police arrest one in Wednesday night stabbing
Newport Police have reported that they are investigating a stabbing incident.
According to Sergeant Joseph Carroll, Wednesday night at approximately 11:23 p.m., Newport Police responded to a Bellevue Avenue business parking lot for a report of a stabbing.
28 year old Crystal Lynn Cordeiro of Newport was arrested and charged with Disorderly Conduct and Simple Assault.
The local 34 year old male victim was transported to Newport Hospital and then transferred to Rhode Island Hospital.
The victim’s status is currently unknown and the incident is still under investigation.
