Tax preparation to be available at Fall River City Hall
The City of Fall River is announcing the annual tax preparation program available at City Hall.
AARP will prepare and file federal and state taxes at Fall River City Hall from Feb 1, 2019 – April 17, 2019. They will be available from 9:00-12:00 Monday through Friday excluding any days that City Hall is closed due to holidays or inclement weather.
Paperwork required to have your taxes correctly prepared is last year’s returns for both federal and state as well as all tax documents you received for the tax year 2017 and social security cards for you, your spouse and any dependents and picture IDs.
There will be no sign-in sheet, a lottery system will be used instead. At 8:45 a.m. everyone who is in the lobby to have taxes done will receive a number. The amount of numbers drawn will depend on how many tax preparers are available that day. Once the numbers are called that will be all the clients taken for that day. If your number is not called you may come back as often as you like to participate in the lottery each day. However, each day new numbers will be distributed. There are no rollovers.
