Nick and Ashley Ozug, owners of The Brewhouse District in Fall River, have announced the sale of the downtown restaurant, citing a desire to spend more time with their young children.
In a social media post this morning, the couple said the decision, while difficult, was made with their family as the top priority. Raising four children under the age of six while operating multiple businesses had caused them to miss significant milestones and everyday moments.
“As we have always emphasized, being present and actively involved in our children’s lives is most important to us,” the Ozugs said. “We know these early years are irreplaceable.”
The Brewhouse District, located at 139 South Main Street in the Cherry & Webb Building, opened in late 2023. Over the past three years, the Ozugs said they built it into a successful full-service restaurant and café offering breakfast all day, lunch, dinner, and a full bar. They expressed confidence that the new owners will continue the business the same as it has always been.
The sale was finalized about a month ago, but the couple waited to announce it until the transition was complete to ensure a smooth handoff. They said the new owners intend to keep the menu, staff, and operations largely the same and believe their experience in the industry will support continued growth.
With the sale, the Ozugs plan to focus on their recent acquisition of Tequila Lime Cantina and transforming that establishment.
They thanked customers, staff, and the community for their support over the past three years.
“While it is bittersweet to say goodbye to something we have poured so much time, energy, and love into, we are confident and fully support the new owners in their vision.”
Brewhouse told Fall River Reporter that the new owners are MGM Hospitality.
“They are keeping our staff, our menu and operations. The Brewhouse won’t close and will remain open for normal hours.”
According to their website, MGM are a founder-led restaurant operator who has built, managed, and scaled restaurants across multiple states.
So, while the Ozugs will now get more well-earned quality family time, it appears that customers of Brewhouse should expect business as usual.
