The Fall River Police Department have arrested one man, and are looking for another, after an incident that left a man bloodied last week in tent city, the area of Brayton Avenue and Route 24.

As previously reported, according to Deputy Chief Barden Castro, police are currently investigating a reported assault by means of a machete on October 15th.

One man was transported to Rhode Island Hospital with injuries to his head. The 35-year-old male victim was alert and provided an initial statement to responding officers.

Castro stated that it appeared that the victim and suspects may be known to each other.

Acting Chief J.T. Hoar told Fall River Reporter on Saturday that after an investigation, two suspects were identified in the encampment incident.

Arrest warrants were issued for 38-year-old Danny Nieves and 39-year-old Jason Ramalho.

Ramalho was arrested Friday by the CAST Team. The department is still looking for Nieves.

Both face charges of Assault & Battery with a Dangerous Weapon and Armed Robbery.

Court records show that at arraignment Friday in Fall River District Court, Ramalho pled not guilty and was being held on bail of $75,000 surety bond or $7,500 cash.

A probable cause hearing is scheduled for November 13th.
